Willis v. Kia Motors
In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, Delta Division, Case No. 2:07cv62 (September 2009).
After Ms. Willis left the roadway, her Kia Sportage rolled over and she was ejected and rendered a paraplegic. Ms. Willissued Kia Motors Corp. and Kia Motors America, Inc. alleging that the vehicle’s seat belt design was defective in that it permitted too much slack, and this additional slack permitted her to be ejected. The jury returned $15,570,000 verdict for the Plaintiff.
